Evening Kiss

Hills escape me
Into a January mist
In solace dusk I share
Its kiss
On the face
Of a young true sea
Under my eyes
The cool air leans
Freshness wash the sand
As I walk in mellow
The swallow speaks a song
Of welcome journey home

Fear

Should I touch that shadow
A minuscule
Erodes as I get closer
Torch light
I must not use
Afraid
All might erase
It fizzles while the rain drops drizzle
As the curtain trail touch the folds
The shadow is a fear
Where is he?
My crunching toes can he hear it
Christmas lights are still on the twigs
I see him
Draw closer to rip it

Outside
A range rover I hear
Roaring
Slowly
Approaching the door
Do you think all would be different
If I hadn’t let go of the fear?

Reward

Death is no stranger
A woman in beauty
She touches softly
On my brow
She dances
She smiles
Willingly teasing

Summer with Grandma

Why do you look for me
In the garden
Around the lillies
In May
Your children grow
From you apart
Afar until the summer sun
You can brush
Your lips
On my wedded muddy face
Fondle
For I shall come again
In May

O Brother

O Brother

So far away
Many a mile I stay
There my brother mourns
For his companion has borne
The mystery of horrid silence
“I do not want to be with you, no more”
She says

I want to touch his brow
Smear my love on his face
But I quake with fear
For all may seem a fake
Appear I here
Strong
Though heavy with pain

Uneasiness maintains its way
All day
I cannot bear
“Come back, Come back
My dear silly girl”
I pray
“Family awaits you
The little child gazes far away
Knowing not how she may help”

Love that once lived
Has now found its way
Beyond the thick
Old forest
Dark and filth
Merriment now
It cannot see

“Amidst the tender leaves
There shines the light
See
Follow
For there is the smile
Long last
And fair”
An unknown beauty
To dare

My brother walks
Straight
Shoulders broad
Family pride
He bears
With might
“All will be well
For the Lord sees me
Pass by”
He says
Rest assured

I smile
But barely
For I want to be there
Beside my brother
Walking
Along
Into the temple
To kneel and pray

Lo!
I cannot cry
Here
Far away I stay
Bound
To keep my head
Upright
Strong
For my brother

With rigour
I fight
And demand
“Lord return my brother
He deserves the joy
His knees are sore
A comfort seat he yearns
To sit
And sigh”
